Want to get some opinions. Which is the easiest to clean military rifle that shoots cheap corrosive milsurp ammo comparatively ? Key word is "Comparatively".

I'm thinking mosin?

I know if you're committed you can clean anything, that's not what I'm asking.

I find the sks to be super easy and fast to clean. Its much quicker for me to break it down and wipe individual pieces then trying to get into little nooks and crannies of a whole rifle.

Yep, mosin is dead simple . The sks is a breeze to clean for a semi, I certainly wouldn't let that stop you from buying one. The svt is a little harder than the sks. I dont know about other semi's as i have no experience with them. But any bolt action is going to be significantly easier than a semi of any kind. Youtube is your friend when it comes to cleaning any gun for the first time

SVT-40.

lol no just kidding.

The SVT-40 gets a bad rap for disassembly and somewhat undeserved IMHO. I will admit that as rifles go it's not the paragon of simplicity to clean but it really isn't that bad. The worst part is getting the main spring properly placed in the receiver cover and is that really so hard (though I admit to launching it once or twice :) )?

Fn 49 is not bad, depends how in-depth your cleaning is.
M14 is pretty easy to. Most military semis I find are fairly simple to brake apart, but not everyone may agree.

If you are new to red rifles I would recommend a SKS (cheap).

As noted, a Nagant is super simple, but a SKS or CZ858 are about 5 minutes more to clean.

The only real difference is they have a gas system that needs washing out with boiling water.

Maybe 5 minutes more?? All are very simple and were designed for conscripts with little training.

The VZ is the better rifle by far though.

Well myself I'd also say a Mosin would be the easiest to clean also and the sks second. if your not shooting a collector than don't sweat it . the sks is a little more work but as someone else said just pull it apart and pour boiling water through it . do what you have to do .
