East German M44

I have in my possession what is said to be an East German M44. What markings would it have that differ from Russian M44? I'm comparing several M44 rifles and not having anything jump out at me to signify an "East German" M44 rifle.

HeyFiddler,

Usually DDR Mosins are Izhvek production, and will have a marking with a 1, 2, or 3 in a triangle. Supposedly 1 is best quality and 3 the worst. Google East German m44 and there is tons of info!

Look for the /1\ just below the CCCP stamp. It looks like the izzy stamp, but isn't.

It has half of the stamp, or a partial, but not much different than the Russian M44

Well it still is a russian M44, just inspected and put into service in the DDR.
