Yes there was at least 1 individual (Mike) shooting a 6BR but couldn't find him to borrow a round for the pic in time.I think there were even more missed but it was a quick roundup between relays.

FWIW not only was the Inaugural Eastern Regionals a success ,so was the second annual
Western Regionals.
My congratulations to all the winners and participants at both events. Lets keep these as regular annual Matches!!!
Point of thought for current and future F shooters...
OVER 70 Canadian F Class shooters came together during this past weekend to participate in 2 Nationally recognized DCRA sanctioned events. I may not have the best memory BUT I believe this to be a Canadian record for F Class Canadian shooters. It must surely indicate to all observers ,that F Class is growing FAST and IS here to stay.
Additional Thanks to all those who helped make these events happen!!

I only know the one NormB shot the 7mm boo-boo it is a necked down 8x68 typically RWS brass and used in 1000 benchrest.

I tried googling the 7mm Stair and it come up with nothing i am curious myself.

6br

No 6BR's?

CyaN1de there was only one 6br,shooter and his score where way bellow the 4 or 5 223 rem shooters fine cartridge, but not for 700y to 1000y the 6br can,t run with the 223 Rem with 90gr Bergers & seldom beats the 223 at 300 to 600y The 6br could do well in perfect conditions, but that never seems to happen on a 2 or 3 days shoot.
I see many fellows still building the 6br and using a 8 twist barrels shooting
105gr & 108gr with BCs just topping 500.
If your building a 6br to shoot F class you should be building a 1/7 twist and shoot the 115gr bullets with a BC of 545
To me a 6br is in no where land for F class shooting, the open class guys using the big 7mm bullets with large case capacity cartridges, they should be building 223 Rem for the short ranges and when there is a 600y shoot leave the big guns at home and shoot F/TR with there 223 more shooters shooting F/TR = more prizes, way cheaper to shoot, no recoil and even the 545 BC 6mm bullets will not be as good as the 233 Rem shooting 590 BC bullets.
Friend in Texas just finished building a 22/250 shooting 80 Bergers at 3420 fps gun shoots in the .100s at hundred yards and he shot a 5 shot group at 1000y in perfect conditions 2".
Will be testing a new build my friend is doing shooting 224 90gr Bergers he will have no trouble getting them way over 3000fps how accurate time will tell.

I beg to differ.... :D

6BR shooting 105's (Hunting VLD's) came within 1 point of winning the Western Canada F-Class Championship this past weekend beating out several of the 284 and its variants.

Now, when the winds really kick up it sure helps to have those heavies, but if one knows how to steer the bus it will always make it to it's intended destination.

I did some ballistic comparisons the other day just to see the deficit of my 105's against other cartridges/bullets and the 6.5 140 Berger at 3050 pretty much equal the drift performance of the 180 7mm's at 900m/1000yds while the 90gr .224 bullet at 3100 would equal the 6.5 140 Berger doing 2850.

All based on a 2000ft Zero and a 5000ft Range

You are not likely to find much on Google. I made this up last year after I decided to look for something that could get the 190gn Matrix to at least 3000 fps. I started modelling with the .284 Shehane but decided it was not sufficient to get the velocities I was looking for at an acceptable pressure. I wanted a similar boltface, so I started looking. My first choice was the 9.3x64 Breneke, but I could not source this brass

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9.3x64_Brenneke

I eventually found the .376 Steyr, this case used the 9.3x64 Breneke as the parent case and was a much better choice for a 7mm round.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.376_Steyr

After some minor modifications I ended up with the 7mm Stair (Gord suggested the phonetic play on words Steyr = Stair)

I shoot this in a 32 inch 1:8 twist 5R Border bbl, using N570 I was able to find an accuracy node at 3150 fps.

It was nice chatting with you at the Easterns. Always enjoy reloading talk

excellent thanks for the info you have reached the speed most likely to be running at the worlds. I am sure you are following closely on barrel wear.

How was sourcing brass.
It is interesting that u suggested the 9.3x64 because after ONT001 posted i was searching for a suitable case and thought i found the equivalent in the 9.3x62.

last question how did u come by the border barrel.
