Are there any sniper rifles available from red countries?
Newly manufactured or surplus? I know about the mosins obviously, but is there anything more modern available besides the illegal Dragunov? Would love something that pairs with my vz58. Maybe there's a western produced one with eastern influences?

I too want one so bad but choices are limited

Would be nice if someone can manufacture a dragunov/m76 clone from the same aspects as the VZ 58 or similar so it's not considered an ak variant.

I asked a dealer about them sometime ago, and he indicated that by the time he jumped through the hoops, it would be outrageously expensive to bring them in for the (small) size of the market for them.

I believe the Valmet M76 version, chambered in 7.62x51 was offered in the sniper version when they were first imported.

I don't remember where I saw them. Alan Lever of Lever Arms brought in a lot of Valmet 76 versions with accessories back in the day.

Really we dont have any modern DMR type rifles available in canada besides the svt40 which will dry up eventually and you don't want to bubba that up, and the valmet which you're gonna pay big bucks for it if you can find it and finding mags will cost you too.

I'm not holding my breath that the cpc or whoever will drop the whole prohib restricted laws and we can be able to own those guns again.
In that case if westrifle was able to have kodiak defense manufacture their version of the cz858 why cant they manufacture one able to shoot a bigger cartridge? Clone it like the dragunov or m76 but with their action so you know it wont be a problem to get non restricted status.
Make the receiver compatible to accommodate a larger cartridge, rework the bolt and magazine well and put a slightly thicker barrel to have some good accuracy.

I dunno, if they can get around the whole AR non restricted scheme then why not this.

Just my 2 cents just wanted to Express my feelings hahaha
