My father gave me his old 22 Eatonia recently. It was given to him about 60 years ago when he was around 8 and I used it when I was pretty young to learn how to shoot. He has now passed it on to me and I've decided to restore it (good idea or bad?) and found that somewhere along the last 20 years the extractor has gone missing.
I tried a local gunsmith but after several months of attempting to source one out he attempted to fit one from a Cooey but it doesn't quite work.
Any idea where i could find one or will I have to fabricate one? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Cooey did in fact make Eatonia firearms. I have two of these rifles, one in .22 and one in .25 along with a sxs 12 gauge. From my research, those were the three Eaton brand firearms.

My grandfather received his first boys rifle in 1923, new, from Eatons. I have this rifle, and although essentially worthless, it was passed from him to my father to me, and will be passed to my first born. I bought the others to round out the collection.

You need to look for a Cooey extractor - probably the smallest (smaller than a Model 60) that you can find. If you have trouble finding one that works, PM me and I will take measurements for you and perhaps this will be of assistance.

All the best, and good luck.
