Anyone bought the cheap holographic or red dot sights on ebay? Some of them are 30 bucks for 33mm. Pretty cheap but do they last? If you don't have experience with ebay scopes please don't post here. Go start your flame fests elsewhere ty. Just because some people spend 500+ on a red dot doesn't mean it's 470 dollars better than a Ebay one.

Yes, it is. I once bought a 60$ EOtech clone on ebay to put on a .22 It's not worth the money. Won't hold zero and not bright enough. Ok for airsoft but nothing more.
If you want a cheap red dot to put on real firearm, the 50$ 30mm Tasco at Canadian tire is a good deal and will work up to 7.62x39

my buddy put a halo one he got from ebay, not sure which brand tho, on his SKS anyways he took it off not one full clip later LOL. I have a cheap tasco red dot(crappy tire) on my 715T and I love it. works well for the rifle im using it on. Im sure its on par with the ebay ones. if you get something for 40-50 bux shipped and least its not alot of cash if you end up junking it. Check out crappy tires tasco it was only 59.99

my old tactical .22 had a BSA clone red dot, no issues/complaints. ($30)
my AR15 has an ACOG clone on it, 1000+ rounds, love it, still no issues. ($120)
my bolt action .22 has a leupold mark 4 clone on it, wish I had bought one sooner though i'm only about 100 rounds into using/testing it ($60)

my target rifle has a real weaver scope on it, but for plinking guns i'm willing to take a gamble with a cheaper alternative.

(these optics are bought knowing they may get shaken apart, if you're gunna cry about it if it breaks, I recommend you don't buy them)

Just buy a TRS-25 if you dont want to fork out the cash for an aimpoint

The TRS-25 sure is better builded than the Tasco and is smaller too, but it is more like 100-120$. For a rimfire application the Tasco work just fine. For centerfire the TRS-25 will surely last longer thou.

I bought a sightmark reflex qd for $70 + shipping on eBay. The thing is awesome. Holds zero and has great clarity and is nice and bright in daylight. I can quickly take it on and off and it maintains izero. It's rated up to .50 and I have it on my Kriss.

I think the best deals you can find are on irunguns.com they will ship to canada and cover export fees, duty, etc... u just pay shipping from edmonton. BSA red dots for 60-80 bucks. Decent looking ones. Ebay stuff is garbage but I just wanted some first handers input. thanks all.

This post contradicts your opening post in the thread haha.

To add a but to the thread. I have also used a few sets of eBay or dx.com scope rings, of the 5-6 sets only 1 set was unusable.

Well at least one of us had the sense to ask others before in possibly buying junk online. BBut it is very nice of you to share experience with us so others won't fall pray to the same trap. Thanks for being helpful

You gotta find the right acog clone tho I bought my first from 1337 Tactical, loved it, went to get another one, thinking same company as the first ( ebay ) I could deal with it being off a mm, but I swore the eye relief was 1mm.. Most of my cheap ebay optics only go on 22LR because why spend 300$ on a reddot for a 22.

Ive bought a few knockoffs on ebay and they work fine. I have a 4x32 ($15 won on an ebay auction) scope on my sks and after 200 rounds its still holding zero. I have a lightup 3-9x40 ($40 ebay) on my 22lr 597 and shot a few bricks and still holding zero. I also have a red dot and a holo reflex one and they work fine. Im glad I spent what I did on my scopes cause im sure I wouldve spent 3x more at a store. They work and thats all that matters. Ive also picked up a few cheapo set of scope rings, shotgun belts etc on ebay. If you can win them cheap on ebay its better then spending full price on them on ebay

I have an eBay acog knock off and am very happy with it. All in it was about $160 for the scope and red dot, and after 1000 rounds on the 10/22 I have no regrets.

Is it actually fiber optic illuminated? I've kinda been eyeing these up but my experience with Chinese red dots tells me Id be better off giving the money away to someone more deserving.

So wait, you spent 160 on an ebay scope not even knowing if it was any good? Did you research it or just hope it was good?

Why?
Because the majority of the time I spend shooting is with my 22. On an average range day I might shoot 40- 60 .308, then 100-200 .223/556 and 200+ 9mm. But I always go through close to 1000 22lr every time I take it out. I spend the majority of my time shooting it. Plus it's the first gun I grab when I'm going to a friends to go plinking. That's why I didn't mind spending what I did on my SR22, I never have any issues with it.
