eBay's Want It Now is WRONG VENUE

Couple of days ago I saw a "Want It Now" posting by a Canadian on US eBay. They were looking for Gevarm magazines. For that W-I-N service there is no way for buyer and seller to get together. eBay doesn't allow that. They want the reader to list the item with them if they have it. Unfortunately eBay doesn't allow us to offer hi-cap mags like the 20-round Gevarm .22rf mags. Therefore, posting a listing there is worthless if you're looking for something that can't be posted on eBay. Just a word of advice.

Don't Want To Part With My Mags...

It's taken me 30 years to end up with only FOUR Gevarm mags! Got a couple each of the 8- and 20-round originals. Sold a 20-rd a year or so ago for $175 and still regret it. Also, I wish I'd kept the several E1 models I owned when I lived in BC back in the '70s. I wrote to a HUGE mag dealer down here about duplicating them. They wrote back that there wasn't enough market for them, and it might cost up to $5,000 to tool up for them. I even offered my mags for use as patterns. I was just trying to WARN the guy that eBay was NOT the right place to advertise for them. eBay doesn't allow buyer and seller to converse via email directly. The person with the wanted item HAS TO offer it for auction on eBay. I tried to get the guy to look me up on CGN and told him my name here is mauser. But he didn't understand and asked if the magazines I mentioned for this mauser would fit the Gevarms!!! I couldn't be completely direct because eBay could then ban me from using their services. Below is a pic of my scanty group of Gevarm mags. Two for each Gevarm in my collection. AND ALWAYS LOOKING FOR MORE...

Mauser, you may want to try Paul Boucher at the following address:

Micro Usinage BB Inc. 1401, Route 138 Donnacona, Québec G0A 1T0 [Canada]
418-285-0899 418-285-0996 Fax

I know he's made mags and other gun parts in the past and he's the Remington service gunsmith now in this area. If he's interested let me know I can lend him the mags.

Thank You...

Many thanks for the lead on getting these mags built. It can't be that difficult to duplicate them!!! Soon as we get through the holidays I'll give him a call. I certainly appreciate your offer to loan him your treasures for patterns. Hopefully you have a 20-rounder available. After I find out I'll post the results here in Rimfire Forum. Thanks again, and Happy New Year to all CGNs.

Great Group, Dump Shoot!!!

Somewhere in my gun files is a similar picture from another collector, with about twice as many mags as shown in your photo. He too will not part with any of his goodies. When I lived in BC back in the '70s I owned exactly one dozen E1s. When I moved back to the States I only brought one back. I also sold a collection of nineteen M1 carbines to Tom Bongalis in Vancouver for about $80 each, which I regret just as much as leaving the Gevarms up there. Can't remember if it was on CGN or another forum, but yesterday some guy posted a note saying he didn't think there were any .22rf hi-cap mags. I posted the following photo to prove him wrong.

They are Bingham PPS-50, Gevarm 20, and Auto-Ordnance Thompson 1927A3 "banana" 30. (Got a couple of this latter one for my Tommy. Need the conversion unit so I can use the Bingham drum on the A3. Know where I can find one?)
