I have a M-305 thats showing some promise, but my older eyes are slowing me down. I'm going to pick up one of the decent steel scope mounts but I'm curious as to what to put on it for optics. An upper end or 10 or 12 would be lots I think, and I'd like to be able to go down to 3 or 4. My problem is twofold. One, I can't afford to drop a grand on a scope for a 400$ rifle, and Two, I don't know much about optics. I realize that you get what you pay for but what is an acceptable compromise between cost and performance? Anyone have any scope recommendations? I'll just be target shooting, no hunting.

Thanks all

bushnell elite is a decent scope but it is in ten power which is limits field of view quite a bit for a battle rifle in my humble opinion.

A low power scope would probably be a better choice.

Seen many of these on M305 rigs..the fix 10x40 in Mildot for about $240.00

Agreed that is why I have a 1.5-5x on mine. But for Cocked&Locked use a 10x would be just right. Also if going budget on a scope it's probably better to stick with a fixed power.
