This may qualify for the finals in the "dumb question" contest.
I bought one of these at Cabela's the other day for half price - $60+tax. Kind of big and clompy, but I am not planning on entering the Olympics, at least not for a while. I mounted it on a new bolt action JW15 Norinco. It seemed to me that the little green/red indicator light that hangs down inside from the top would be visible when you aim the rifle, right? Wrong.
I took the rifle out to my buddy's range today to try it out. I have never fired it. Well, here we go. Loaded it up, take aim...all I can see is two - yes two - faint little green or red dots. Hmmm. Try a new battery. Same thing. Tried all different settings, same. Jeez, what kind of deal is this?
My buddy, in all his wisdom, suggests jokingly that I maybe put it on backwards. So, I look through the dumb thing backwards - you guessed it! Red/green dot as nice as could be.
Put it on what seemed to be backwards, and away we went. Rifle shot like a darn, scope worked. I will never live this one down. My buddy will be sure to tell anybody who will listen.
Does anybody have one of these, and which way do you have it mounted. When I mounted the scope, I sort of recall finding a pic of one mounted, but, of course, I can't find it now. The scope works fine, and I don't care about the little indicator light, but I am curious if this one is correct or has a defect.
Thanks in advance for any help. (Save the insults about Barska for someone else, please.
)

Had another look at the sight. I guess the "indicator light" isn't at all what I thought it to be. It apparently provides the red or green dot that is actually the reticle. Jeez. No wonder nobody answered my post. What could you say to anybody as dumb as me...
