UPDATE: IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

Due to the recent trade dispute initiated by the US Govt, the CDN Govt has imposed retaliatory tariffs which apply to some US Made firearms.

The Canadian list of HS Codes covered by the 25% tariff are:
9302.00.00 - Revolvers and pistols, other than those of heading 93.03 or 93.04.
9303.10.00 - Muzzle-loading firearms
9303.20.10 - Pump or slide-action shotguns
9303.20.90 - Other shotguns
9303.30.10 - Bolt-action or semi-automatic .22 calibre rimfire rifles,
9303.30.90 - Other rifles, centrefire
9303.90.10 - Apparatus for the destruction of predatory animals by the discharge of poisonous cartridges; Automatic explosive bird-scaring devices
9303.90.90 - Other like above line
9304.00.10 - Guns and pistols, spring or gas
9304.00.90 - Other air guns
9306.21.00 - Cartridges
9306.29.00 - Other cartridges
9306.30.10 - basically.... cartridges
9306.30.90 - basically, rifle cartridges

It should mean that these items, if Made in USA, are now subject to 25%tariff on import. This does NOT apply to items manufactured outside the USA, such as Europe.

Note that 9305 which covers parts of rifles, shotguns, etc., is NOT covered by these tariffs.

UPDATE FEB 3: If this goes into effect, items already with a carrier on route to Canada will be exempt. From CBSA:
"15. The surtax will not apply to U.S. goods that are in transit to Canada on the day on which the surtax comes into force. This includes goods that were in transit before the surtax comes into force. For the purpose of this Customs Notice, ‘in transit to Canada’ refers to goods bound for but not yet arrived in Canada, and under the control of a carrier.

Let's hope this aggression against Canada is over quickly.

Thanks for the rundown and explanation. I’ve been trying to figure out if these tariffs would include gun parts and accessories in particular, I think this answers my question.

Initial 12 month license issues are currently running up to 40 days. Let's hope this is finished before then.

We will begin contacting customers with items covered by the tariff prior to shipping. Should you wish to wait till this is over, we will hold your shipment until this is over or until you tell us to dispatch it.

I just updated the post in reply to this. HS Code 9305 - basically parts and accessories of firearms are NOT included in this tariff.

Aggression against Canada? All that is happening is Trump protecting domestic markets, and making certain markets viable again.
Does it suck for Canada? Yes, but we should have never been so dependant on the US in the first place.
Nah it's an agression. Trump said so again this morning. He plans to use economic force against Canada so we become a state.

You can agree with it or not but in the end this is Trump waging an economic war against Canada. Fentanyl is just a pretext to legally try to justify tearing a free trade agreement he himself signed.

I agree with not being so dependant would have helped.

100% USA is just as reliant on us as well. This does nothing positive for North America. Anyone who supports this play by Trump should leave Canada.

He’s surely not phrasing it that way. Blaming the fentanyl entering the USA from Canada as the reason… the 1% of all fentanyl in USA from Canada. Manipulative tactics suggesting Canada to be American 51st state… no thanks. This is terrible global posturing, I would love to see some big moves like Canada joining the EU with Mexico.

In another universe JT met with Donald and said we are calling an election and he refrained from tarrifs pending the actual process starting
