Edmonton area nutz

No, that's one place I've never shot. My understanding is that they're only open on Wednesday nights and weekends, and that weekends are pretty much always booked for competitive ATA shoots.

I was a big fan of the Strathcona Range, until Mandel the pr*ck shut it down. Since then, I've drifted away from the ATA game in favour of Sporting Clays and International Trap. I'm a member at Sherwood Park Fish and Game, mostly for the pistol ranges (for my restricted ATT). I do most of my actual pistol shooting at Phoenix. SPF&G has a hand flinger that is marginally better than nothing, but their insistance on keeping their only ATA field under lock and key is going to cost them my membership. What's the point of having a membership if you can't use the equipment?

I'm also a member out at Beaver Hill. They have a SUPERIOR sporting clays course and have now worked a deal with The Northern Alberta Shooters Association that has resulted in a Continental (wobble) Trap field and a skeet field. I hear rumours that a 5-stand install is in the works, too. So it's a great deal for anyone into the clay sports.
