Hi All,

Apologies if I’m posting in the wrong forum. I’m not exactly a newbie - I’ve been shooting for about 40 years, but I’m moving to Edmonton (North East part of town) and wondering if anyone could direct me to a good gun club, where I could shoot rifle, pistol, shotgun and bonus if there is archery as well.

Thanks,

LTR

Sherwood Park Fish and Game would be right up your alley. A lot of fudds there but it's not a bad spot and they have quite a few other things to do there.

Welcome to Alberta.

Welcome to Alberta.

Sherwood Park is a nice club for rifle and pistol from what I hear. The only shotgun they have is trap and some spring throwers. For Sporting Clay Shooting the closest would be Beaverhills Sporting Clays, and for skeet shooting the closest would be Camrose Shooting Sports. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much guys. Yup I called them and Sherwood Park looks like just what I’m looking for. Nice to be here.

Thanks,

LTR

Welcome my friend!

Definetly a few healthy options.

Sherwood Park Fish and Game. (The fishing pond, for the purpose of teaching the young ones another beloved sport, is a hoot. Camping facilities are available to my understanding still as well.)

Canadian Historical Arms Society (of which I'm a member) out towards Genesee. Fantastic range and much has been cleared up there including the recent purchase of a quarter section, to which the excellent Board has some great plans regarding expansion. Archery is available.

Edson Fish and Game. Fantastic facility. The backdrop of the mountains is icing on the cake, and hosts the Longest Mile Range, 1600m backstop making this one of the LONGEST ranges in western Canada. (Member here as well). Makes for a wonderful day trip or over nighter, where you can give all your list a thorough workout! They also have an indoor Archery facility in the town itself for those colder days.

Edmonton Gun Club, near the YEG airport. Shotgun only.

Phoenix Range is available if you'd like to pop in and do some pistol work, along with Wild West on the west end in West Edmonton Mall.

Google them :)

Thanks AntekPL! I appreciate all that info and the warm welcome. I’m now signed up for Sherwood Park but I might look into Edson too for the long range option. They all sound great. Many thanks!
