I would like to know where is permitted to hunt around Edmonton, is it outside of the corporate limit or city limit????

and where I can find a map that shows exactly where is the limit.....or what roads is the limit.

thanks

email city hall about discharge of firearms by-laws, and for a map of city limits. They will be happy to answer those questions for you.

You gota drive kinda far out of edmonton unfortunately. Blue Ridge is a place to go out by white court.

mostly you have 2 options. the easy one is to knock on farmers doors, option 2 is to get county maps and hunt in the crown land. There is a map store down town that can help u out.

expect to drive at least 45min in either direction.

It's a bowzone for nearly 30 miles in every direction. A couple of the counties do have a shotgun/black powder season for white tail and hunters lucky enough to draw a moose tag.

Closest bet is the Blackfoot Grazing Reserve. Limited entry hunt (draw) for moose and elk, plus a general whitetail season. You need to go to an orientation session to get a discharge permit. The reserve is about 20 minute east of Sherwood Park.

As for hunting in the city limits of Edmonton....verboten (sp?)

I am looking for coyote hunting, so I need to know where is permited to discharge a firearms withont problem.

sorry if my 1 st message wasn't clear.

<no reply from the city of Edmonton so far....>

Evansburg, Entwistle, MD of Brazeau (Drayton Valley), lots of critters out there, and a lots of social landowners. Knock on doors and introduce yourself. Don't be surprised if they offer you a coffee and break out the photo albums. I really enjoy that area.

I stay away from Edmonton east until after Tofield, and you can guarantee that a lot of those landowners have been "wronged", and now only allow a exclusive clientele.

head north kind of near redwatter and go to Opal. Drive just a bit north of there and there is a ton of coyotes. Just knock on some doors and u should have luck !

Find the map that came with your Hunting Regs. It outlines the area around Edmonton that does not allow Firearms Discharge at wildlife. Or call 310-0000 and ask to be connected to a Conservation Officer. The map might be online somewhere but I can't remember.

thanks everybody, that what I was looking for....

by the way city of Edmonton send me an e-mail about public places....... didn't realy help.
