Hi,

I live in edmonton and have recently decided to get into shooting. Mainly for recreation, target shooting etc. Depending on how things go i may consider the possibility of hunting.

I have written the test for my PAL and will take the test for my RPAL when i get a chance, ( I work out of town). I waiting so i don't have to apply twice.

I have very little experience with firearms, really only shooting them here and there growing up. I had a chance to do some skeet shooting awhile back, that was fun.

I decided to join this site for the advice of more experienced shooters. I have already read quite a few threads, some on the PAL RPAL etc, One reason i didn't automatically send off my form, even though i wanted to.

Cheers,

Hi and welcome Mr. Rabbit to the wonderful world of shooting. We got it pretty good here in Edmonton. Sherwood Park Fish and Game Association is the place you want to be. Family membership is $110.00 for the year or $70.00 for a full range membership just for you. Get your membership at Wholesale Sports, Milarm, P&D, there a few, others sell them as well but these are the main stores I visit. Note: non members are NOT allowed to shoot (insurance regulation). The range is near Tofield. We are a friendly bunch out there. If you have any questions PM me and I will try to help you out. There are other ranges around Edmonton, but this is the one I belong to and from day one they made me feel welcome.

www.spfga.org ( the sites a little behind getting updated) Look at the events calender from last year. Gives you an idea of what goes on. The sponsored shoots are fun to participate in.

Hey thanks for the Heads up M77.

by chance do you know if the what the Sherwood Park considers family.
I ask because my common law girlfriend may be interested as well.

You might also want to look at Spruce Grove Gun Club. It's a bit more expensive but you can bring up to two guests with each membership. If you have a family membership, that includes you, your wife and any children under 18. We are a pretty busy range, check out our web page under "events" and take a look for yourself.
