EEEeeewww! Bubba strikes again... :(

So you mean that you bought somebody's parts bin and now are trying to figure out if all the parts are there to make a complete rifle ? :rolleyes::p Mind you if Bubba did that to the receiver, I hate to think what they did to the rest of the firearm, especially the wood ....

As far as the finish, AFAIK back then it was all blued, and IF the original rifle wasn't FTR'd (which means it <may> have been painted with a stuff which I believe was called "suncorite" or some other weird name for "fancy paint"), maybe the "new owner" before you decided to parkerize it ?

The good news is, that anything metal can be fixed if you have the time, money, and expertise to do it.

I should think a perfect example of that is an AR15. They don't bubba it, just add so many accessories that it's hard to see the rifle under them.:rolleyes:
 
Do those M14s count? They aren't really surplus rifles. I mean, if only Bubba would keep his efforts to say... Springfield M1As, would any collectors really be complaining?
