EEP! Sight quick fix!?!?!

Hey folks,

I have a problem.

I just found out the rear sight on my SIG P229R 9mm is loose in the dovetail cutout and I have no chance of getting to a gunsmith before I compete in IDPA Provincials tomorrow morning!

Are there quick ways to fix this puppy in place long enough to run the match or do I simply grin and bear it as the rear sight jumps around in the cutout for the duration before I take it to the gunsmith on Monday?

I wish I had noticed this before...

Anyways, any help will be appreciated.

I have tightened rear sights by removing them and gently tapping down the front and back edges of the tops of the dovetails on the barrel. Probably doesn't help as you might not want to remove the sights before your competition tomorrow, but it works.

5 minute epoxy or loctite...........

Remove the sight and dress the dovetail down to tighten the slot - and it's a typical fix for a worn dovetail....
