Hi Storm;

I have never used the pre-pay function before since it wasn't around when I was shooting 5 years ago. Please send me the details how I use the system to pre-pay and what methods of payment will be used.

Are you going to be posting the stage designs or is it a surprise match?

Regards,
Rob.

Hey,

Ok, this is the first time we'll be using the pre-payment feature of the system (cool!!) . Basically, it works very simply:

a) when you log in and look at the match, the system will show you a three number "pre-payment ID" for that match (I see, for this match, "(your ID for pre-payment: '1-78-34')" ) - that combination of numbers is unique to you FOR THAT MATCH. Take note of it

b) when you're sending in the payment, include that string somewhere (in that format: number-number-number).

c) when the payment is received, Storm will use that number to 'activate' your account, for that match - you'll get an email from the system (make sure you can receive emails) telling you that you're been 'activated', and from then on, for that match, you use the system as normally - go in, add yourself to whatever squad, move yourself, waiting list, just like a regular match. The pre-payment only blocks you from doing anything until the payment is received, after that, you use the system just like for any other match.
The MD will get a copy of each of these email msgs too, to keep until the match is over, just in case something happens and the system crashes, and we have to restore from a backup that's 12h old, so we'll know who paid and who needs to get activated ;)

Any questions or problems, post here or PM/email me...

Thanks!

P.s. If Storm is setup for online banking, sending him the payment via Interact email transfer would be ideal, everything could be done electronially (for those who don't want to use a cheque, or course - for those without online banking, any method of payment will work..) :) The actual payment is totally beyond the scope of the online system, that's between the MD and the shooters, I specifically don't want to get involved with moving money, so that's outside of the signup system...

I beleive that "Top Gun" in Grenville is also using it...

It's a great feature...I would highly recommend that other clubs consider using it. It would be a great way to prevent no shows...specifically when the match is full months in advance...

Ohhh, and for people who aren't on the system, they can be added manually, just like with any other match, so this will not prevent someone without internet access from participating in the match.... Just send your payment in, with requests as to which squad you'd like to be on/with/etc, and you'll get added by the MD.

hey, I'm all paid up and signed up already :D

Way to go, Interac email transfers and online signup

Hey Storm.. do you take (FRAUD ALERT) as well?

(FRAUD ALERT) HATES guns, if they get any indication you're using a (FRAUD ALERT) account for ANYTHING gun related, you'll get your account frozen, and you'll have a ##### of time getting any money out of it...

I've sold Magazines, triggers and holsters on e-bay and used (FRAUD ALERT) as payment.... also you can use (FRAUD ALERT) just to send a payment for non auction related things as well... But I suspect (FRAUD ALERT)'s fee's are higher than a Electronic Money Transfer....

Finally a way to pay for a match without having to wait for snail mail to deliver payment...WTG StormBringer... Another first from the Guy outside of London...
Perhaps this will be the begining of something new and great in IPSC Ontario/ Canada match bookings... or even Membership fees.... I don't use cheques so this would definately help me...

Hehe, like I said, if they get any indication ;)

would made pre-payment matches much easier to deal with, that's for sure ;)

Ok, I don't get this pre-pay thing.

Is the prepayment ID number specific to me as an individual... or is it a match identifier...or ???

When I log in to the on-line match sign up and look next to Storms match it now says ('###-##-###' payment received) [I have hidden the numbers cause I don't know what they are used for]
But why does it say payment recieved? Does it automatically say that after the match director opens the site up to sign up?

Hey,

Ok, just from the previous msg:

that number combination is you, signing up for that match. It identifies you and it identifies the match. It's not something you need to worry about keeping secret, the ONLY thing anyone else can do with it, is to pay YOUR match fee for that match, haha!

right; when Storm put in the fact that you paid, you should have gotten an email informating you of that fact... Since, with all the hyperactive spam filters, emails sometimes don't get delivered, the fact that the little note changed from "ID for pre-payment is" to "payment received" is another, visual indication, and you can sign up now. Once you see that 'payment received' in there, just treat it like any other match, go in, signup, move around, etc, etc...

that's all....

Any other questions?

That's the problem, I have not paid yet; but it says "payment recieved". I could not sign up anyways. Just seems like a minor bug.

I got a PM from Storm, so he knows there is a problem.
