Well thanks to the positive comments from some of the ICS competitors and their desire to shoot another 3 gun match it looks like we are a GO!
We had a meeting today and came up with the stage designs/round count..
Here is the plan.
Myself and a couple of other EESA diehards will build the stages on May 23rd and try to shoot as many of them as possible that day. We will complete any indoor stages that we missed late on Saturday. Sunday the workers will complete any outdoor stages that they are missing and then tear down.
This way it is hoped that all the workers can acutally shoot the match and be home before midnight on the Sunday night. 3 guns can be so much fun but they are a ton of work. I think that this new format will be usable for us in the future.
Saturday will be the main event. 4 squads of 10 competitors shooting all day.
We have
3 Handgun stages: 59 rounds.
2 shotgun stages: 42 rounds.
3 Rifle Stages: 66 rounds
The shot gun round count will be as follow.
Birdshot 7 1/2-6: 36
Slugs: 4
Buckshot: 2
We are spliting the rifle stages onto two ranges. 1 on the 300 m and 2 on the 100 yd range. Shotgun will be on the 85 yard handgun range were it normally is. Handgun will all be indoors.
Now some might think that this is a low round count for an all day match, but experience has shown that 3 gun stages take SOOOO much more time to shoot that it is the only way to do it and keep things moving.
That is why we are limiting the match to 40 competitors on the Saturday. Now normally this is not a problem as 3 gun matches are not very well attended but attendance has grown over the years so we will have to see.
Oh I will open the online sign up when we get a bit closer to the match.
