Not much info around about Ege Arms CG12 (shorter version official designation is CG12-TAC) so I decided to start this thread for those who is curious about this shorty. They retail for $690-$720 which is a bit less than competing Sulun SC-215.
Frame is made of steel, exposed hammers, 3" chamber, threaded for chokes (Beretta Mobil, comes with three). Comes either in black or colour cased receiver. Classical design in modern execution. Lately I have been on short shotguns ride and handled and shoot, Sulun Arm SC-211, Altobelli SC-211 (looks the same, but very different internally), Norinco JW-2000. I always wanted to have one with exposed hammers, just for classical look and choice is pretty limited to Sulun SC-215, Norinco JW-2000 (aka DA Outlaw) and I think there might a version of Boito with short barrels and external hammers? Anyway, this market is limited so we can't expect big brands to come and save us, so we deal with Chinese and Turkish guns. I decided to go with Ege CG12 because it has "black" option and I'm a bit skeptical about side lever on SC-215. JW-2000 weights more and is about 4" longer than CG12 and SC-215.

When I first handled Ege Arms CG1, I noticed very good fitting and finish. Maybe not the "handmade by Italian masters of 18 century" grade, but definitely above the average grade of Turkish guns. There is no play or rattling. Everything is tight but smooth. Took it to the range and started with mini shells and then went to the variety of 2-3/4. What really surprised me (and I can't really explain it) is that shooting full size shell (though target loads) is very comfortable. With SS-211 I usually give up after 4-6 shells, with JW-2000 (which is longer and heavier) it's also not pleasant at all, but this lighter and shorter shotty for some reason is very nice. Maybe good quality butt pad. Don't know, but still pleasant surprise. I think I stopped when I put around 60-70 shell through this gun and could have been shooting more. I had one misfire with S&B shell, primer had a solid dent, but did not go off, second attempt from the same chamber and it fired. Pin protrusion looks fine, so I'll keep an eye on this just in case. Hammer springs are in the sweet spot where they are not too light, not too hard to pull. I can pull both hammers with single move of the palm like in CAS. I also like to take apart guns so I took some pics when I did almost complete disassembly. Inside parts fit and finish was also impressive, a stark contrast with JW-2000 (well, $410 price tag suggests less refined gun). The only thing I did not like is only 3 chokes, now I would need get a second cylinder to shoot slugs.
