Ejecting

Savage cub extracts and ejects dummy round and spent casings flawlessy, sends em flying.

Zastafa extracts dummy rounds but won't eject them. I was actually able to pull the bolt out with the dummy round still stuck to it. I was able to feed a spent casing into the chamber, and it estracted and barely ejected, tossing it inches from the gun.

Seems to me the extractor is not in the way enough. Is this normal?

Zastafa? You mean zastava? I had 2 mp22's and both ejected the brass feet away form you. Maybe there is some gunk under it. Does it move freely?

Ya, zastava. It is brand new and there appears to be some protective gunk coating everything but how would that allow the ejector to be less in the way? Seems to me that would put it more in the way.

its a cz-99.

the i looked at the ejector of a savage cub and a pietta pps50, and both looks DRASTICALLY more effective. is there any chance that a part is missing?

the cub and pps50 both come up off the bottom of the loading area, then stick forward a fair bit. the cz-99 just sticks out a small amount at the bottom... and almost appears to have space on the far side of it for another piece.

Give the extractor & the face & body of of the bolt a good scrubbing with solvent. I have seen guns come from the factory literally bunged up with preservative.
