Ejection on a model 25 savage walking varminter?

I posted on the hunting rifles forum and got no bites. I bought a 17 hornet model 25 savage on the EE and it extracts, but drops the empty in the action. Apparently this is very common.
Anyone ever fix this issue? It's a cool little gun and very accurate, just the failure to positively eject sours it.
