So a couple of months ago I bought a Citori 725 Sporting for shooting trap at my local range. I absolutely love the gun except................. the ejectors. When Browning says their Citori's have ejectors they are not kidding. Open the gun and BAM! Those hulls are out of there. I kinda got use to blocking them. But it was still a pain. I even cut my thumb on one of the ejectors when I got my thumb in there a little too quick. (Okay, I never claimed to be smart)

You see I hate picking up empty hulls. I like to be able to grab them and put them in a my pocket.

So came across a post on another forum about how to turn the Citori ejectors into extractors. All you have to do is replace the ejector springs with 1911 firing pin return springs. I ordered a pair from Marstar for less than $12 shipped. It was a 15 minute job to replace them. Went shooting tonight and it worked great. Open the gun and the hulls are lifted about 1 to 1.5 inches. Grab the hull and into the pocket it goes. No picking up hulls. What a concept.

This works for both Citori's and the 725's. The post is here: h ttp://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=145108&sid=b27eb13349478fa064f9282a01054205

Mods - If I am not supposed to put links to other forums in here delete the post and I apologize in advance.

All of my Citori shotguns have functioning ejectors, and it's rare that I have to pick up a hull shooting skeet/trap/sporting clays. You quickly get used to placing your hands where you block the hulls from ejecting as you open the action.

Cheers

I had to stone the ejectors on my dads gun. They were skate sharp and he kept cutting his thumb. I'm sure he'll appreciate this mid even more

The ejector spring was removed on the TM-1 Perazzi I recently acquired and what they did with the spring I've no idea but I wish I had it. I find having a trap gun set to extract a pain in the azz!! Like stubblejumper I simply place my hand in the right spot and eject the hulls into my palm catching them. Its simple and quick. Once you have done it any length of time its just part of the routine. Out they come into your hand slick as can be, no muss no fuss. Another thing is the majority of todays hulls use steel bases. One of the older gents I used to shoot with shot skeet with a browning gold. He did not have a shell catcher. Once the field was clear of shooters he walked around with a magnet attached to an old collapsible car antenna and picked up his hulls with it. He would pull it out of his shell pouch, extend it full length and begin picking up hulls. After a while about a half dozen other guys were doing the same on both the trap and skeet fields.

It's actually an upgrade to disables the ejectors on those 725's as the ejectors are the first things to go on those guns right around the 10,000 round mark and its because their ejectors are so damn potent the ejector eventually breaks from all the use and sends the whole thing flying with your shotshell. The trigger spring is not far off after that.

Mojo pick stick is a good option if you don't mind buying a bit of kit

I saw one in use and had to have it. You can get at least 30 hulls on the bugger

Where are you getting this information .I haven't read any thing that supports those numbers .
