In my opinion (and just my opinion) these guns were a low cost utility gun that filled a niche in their day. They didn't cost much at all, were fairly cheaply made and were not that great. What has changed with them to make them worth what people will pay for them today. They are still the same gun. If you want to actually use the gun I believe you can buy much much better, especially if you go beyond $250.00.

El Faison was a retailer not the maker of these shotguns! I had a nice talk with a Spaniard about these, he told me these were sold by 2 retailer, I cannot remember the others name off hand. He told me these were either sent in pieces from Belgiam and assembled in Spain or vice versa, the story he said was never really clear other than that there is no maker in Spain called "El Faisan" .These he said were garden guns or Peasant type guns like our Cooey's, he owned very elegant shotguns ,but still had a soft spot in his heart and on his vinyard for this fun gun! I know my uncle bought his El Faisan in the mid 1970's for $50 brand new! Even if the gun is MINT it is not worth more than $300, most sell here in T-Bay for $150-200 range. This year I think I restored 3 or 4 stocks on these guns for gentalmen who loved them even thought it cost more than it is worth to fix them, as they fit and functioned well for there yearly grouse hunts! I even have one somewhere in the middle of resoration as this is the first SXS I had ever shot, cheers Dale Z

I think Eibar was the other reailer but I might be wrong.

I've got one and it's pretty nice as it folds in half and can fit under the front storage compartment on my Polaris Sportsman.
