Elcan c79 question

A freind has a elcan c79 scope and he was wondering if you can change the scope to shoot 308 instead of 223.He thinks if he changes the cam for a 308 it will work?.If someone knows if you can do this please let me know also if you can, does anybody know where you could get a cam to change it over.Any info is appreciated thanks all.

You just get a new .308 base, these can be had directly from Elcan or try Ed Begg from Vbull precision...however you can save a bunch of money and just run with the gate open and find your ups for use with whatever ammo you have, the cam is minute of man anyway, not MOA.

Depending on your load you may find that the 223 cam will work fine for you or open gate it as Sparrow sugests.
