Elcan combat optics

I owned the Elcan Specter DR 1-4 and thought it was too heavy.
Is the OS4X much lighter?

(I did think the glass was fantastic on it)

As others have said, don't limit yourself to that one Optic. I own the OS3x and love it. I've also heard nothing but amazing things about the OS4x. Funny, reviews are usually pretty short and sweet when it comes to those two. Even few and far between. Half because they aren't well known, and half that they don't really advertise them much. Reviews don't have much to mention in the cons, and the pros are hard pros that just need to really be stated once. They will both survive hell on earth, clear glass, a little heavier than other fixed optics but that comes with the toughness, and easily adjustable for zeroing in. Especially if you go with the model where you adjust the elevation on the knob and don't follow the drop indicator. I use my OS3x from 15 to 300m no problem. Stick to 62gr in 5.56, or a consistent 55gr if your rifle likes it more, and off you go. I'm lucky that my C8 and OS3x both love 62gr green tip. So I stack that deep when possible, but AE 55gr stays well within respectable groupings if it were needed for combat purposes.
