Elcan scope on M14

Will an Elcan scope stand up to M14 recoil?
Are the Elcans a good scope ?

They are amazing scopes. My only complaint is the weight. I have no doubt they would hold up just fine.

Seeing as they mount Elcans on M240's I'm sure it can handle the recoil of a semi auto rifle.

There are better scopes for less money - the glass is great, but the have been issues with them failing to hold zero, that and the low power for the money, is why you don't see a whole bunch out here - you can get a great low powered variable for the same money. One that doesn't rely on the mount to set the zero.

You should slap a Trijicon Accupoint on your M-14.

In addition, an Elcan would be ridiculously high above the bore on an M14, as the integral mount is designed for the M16/AR15 family.

I would second the recommendation of the Accupoint. It can do everything an Elcan can without the negatives and with the added bonus of varible magnification.
