I'd like to find a price

WHoa 1300 is a little steep for me lol. Anything that compares to this?

Trijicon ACOG's run $1000-1500 as well... welcome to the world of military sights...

There used to be some relatively cheap SUSAT sights (used on the L85) I think.. but I imagine the resell on those will be really high.

WHat I liked about these when I was in the service was how it didnt act like a scope, it was more of a upgraded iron sight. Is there anything I could get in the $300-500 range that I will get the same kind of view? I want it for the SKS I'm getting. I'll be using a tapco stock

Don't waste money on an ELCAN. It's an overpriced paperweight. Yet another backroom deal that made its way into Canadian issue kit and wasted a whole lot of tax dollars.

There are much better battle sights on the market for either equivalent dollar value or less.

I like the ELCAN C79 Scope,

- Big objective
- very good glass
- durable(built tough)
- decent magnification
- holds it's zero

It's a pretty good scope overall, mine has not given me any problems all.

Have you ever considered running a red dot/collimator sight? You can get used CompM2's for <$500 including a mount in the EE. That's really all that is in your price range... Oh, I guess reflex sights too, but they're pretty similar I suppose.

EDIT: You wanted a $1500 sight for a $200 rifle!

I think the eye relief with the elcan will not work on the tapco setup. You will need a scout or pistol scope for that. The Elcan is total junk though most certainly not worth what you pay

I asked before I knew the price. I loved them on the c7 tho. my groupings were amazing. So something with the same sort of view is what I'm going to have to find.

For sure I would prefer something different in the field, but as a range scope the Elcan is pretty good--the glass is excellent and the newest mounts are much better. I like the reticle as well--the point on the post allows very precise aiming. $1300 is hard to take, though--finding a used one on the EE might be the best bet.

Well, if you just want the same kind of view, you could take in consideration something without magnification. marstar.ca have some cheap Dots in stock at $70 www.marstar.ca/ac-optics/l-red-dot.shtm.

You have many other options indeed between $70 to $500. Like Bushnell Trophy Red Dot, Burris XTS-135, used Aimpoint COMP ML2 in the EE or Dave surplus and tactical (link on top) have them new for $549 also. :)

I bought an Elcan this weekend in very good condition at the local gunshow for 400$. I tried one of that scope on a fellow CGN'er AR AlexD92 and I liked it a lot.

I think it was a good deal after all...
