Elcan spectrdr7.62 or 5.56

Ok I apologize in advance if this is a really dumb question. But I'm interested in getting a good quality combat optic in 4x and the elcan looks really nice. Now they have in for the 5.56 and one for the 7.62, problem is that I have both calibers.
My question is if I buy the sight for 7.62 will it also be safe to function on a 5.56 rifle?

The scopes are ballistically compensated for 2 different calibers (5.56 and 7.62). If it shoots good on one of them , it'll be off for the other. Sorry.

You could figure out the ballistics of the load you are shooting and compensate for it.

If you are shooting 50 to 100 yards it won't matter much

It's only a different reticle. These scopes can withstand any recoil you can shoot.

Ah thanks, I bought the 5.56 and just left it permanently on my tavor.
