I'm looking for a 12V DC trap machine. My father is getting older and has a lot of trouble with the old spring manual thrower. He loves going out and throwing the clays so I was thinking of picking up a machine that he can just push a button. Any suggestions? Somewhere around 500 bucks give or take. Thank you in advance.

I have a Do all Whitewing thrower and have had no problems with about 5000 clays through it. It throws clays really fast and about 100 yards. If you plan on getting a electric thrower get a big deep cycle battery, with my Deka DC31DT I get about 450 throws

If you want to spend a little more, contact lawrys about a bowman supermatch 1. We had one shipped to us by mistake while waiting for a supermatch 6, we used it for a shoot and it was a great little machine that will last a lifetime.

There was a 12V DC thrower in the EE a while ago.
Check (do a search) the "all other stuff" forum, or it might have been in the "Sporting equip EE"

Had a Do All WhiteWing machine, worked for the first 25 targets, then smashed every other target after that. Worked with Do All to repair it, but eventually they just gave up and wouldn't respond to emails. Returned to Cabela's, have heard the Do All's can be hit and miss, just make sure you have an out if you get a bad one.

If I could suggest a non-electric option... Trius One-Step. The cocking is done when you step with your foot, instead of reefing on the arm with your hands. You have to bend over to re-#### (against no spring tension) and replace the clay, but to throw it, you just push down with your foot.

I have two, and they are light-years ahead of the 'old style' throwers, in my opinion.

I'll probably move to a 12v system at some point - if you're gonna spend the money anyway, just forget what I said. :) I looked at a Do-All White wing a while back and almost pulled the trigger... there are some great units around the 500-600 price point.

I emailed Atlas Traps and I'm waiting on their reply. I did think of the Trius One Step as well. Thanks again guys. I did get warning about the Do All traps that they are hit or miss from a friend.

I've been thinking about buying an electric trap thrower, too. The Do-All is tempting. I've read on the internet their motors can wear out, but seems to be an easy fix with a new motor.

I've had an Atlas AT-50 for the last 4 years now, it has been very reliable. I also have the oscillating base and wireless remote options, everything has worked perfectly. I run it with an Optima Blue Top marine battery.

i have the Do-All white wing , After some improving modifications it work well , last time i use it, no broken clays in a box of 135 , i do a rotating base , with some wipers motor ^^ , it turn 80 degree right to left and come back, and 30 degree on the vertical 5 to 35 degree , when is moving the traps is throwing the clays everywhere and they are harder too hit , a nice practice for the duck hunt ^^

We now have six at50's and 2 AT250's at the club. All work great with no issue at all. 1000's of birds launched with each and still going strong. Best bang for the buck for sure. Great craftsmanship & quality parts in the build (stainless steel!)

Regards,

Anyone know how much it costs to ship the Trius or one of the electric )(atlastrap, do-all) throwers up our way?

Does anyone sell them locally?

There is a really nice skeet club about 30 min from me but all they have is shotgun sports so I might join a club that has a handgun range where I can get a ATT at and play with a shotgun in my back yard. Nice to not need someone else operate the machine for me although I have found a few friends who I can invite up to shoot.

The Trius does look like a steal but I wonder if it will feel wierd to a new guy like me having to step on the thing and shoot at about the same time while it vibrates. Thoughts?
