Mueller Optics sent me this picture of the APV in electro-plated silver. The finish looks like chrome because of the process used. This scope is currently not in production, but, if there is enough positive responce Mueller might put it into the production lineup.

Let's here what your thoughts are on this scope.

Honestly? Doesnt do a thing for me......I wouldn't call it "Fugly"....but the first thing that comes to mind are those Tasco pellet gun scopes you used to buy at Crappy Tire. Wouldnt find a place on any of my guns.......BUT:
Did you check out the all polished aluminum unlimited benchrest rifle pic in the precision forum? That gun SCREAMS for one of these scopes.

My .02!

My Mueller 4X16 - 50mm Sport Dot scope comes with a really neat feature, a floating zero and the recticle has turned about 30 degrees in the tube, totally unuseable. I bought this new at a gun show and don't have a proper receipt but I do know that Mueller has a life time warranty. Great, checked the website and the warranty is only if you can provide a receipt from an authorized dealer AND the US only. Warranty Link

- This warranty only applies in the continental United States
- Once an item(s) has been purchased, the item(s) becomes the property of the buyer and Mueller Optics will not give an exchange for that item(s). Even if the item(s) have not been opened.
- Warranty service products should be returned postage pre-paid to Mueller Optics LLC and NOT returned to the store where it was purchased. When returning products for warranty service include a note explaining the problem, a copy of the purchase receipt and a return shipping address inside the box.

So beware of getting this "Bargin", had this on my M305 for approx 200 rounds and now this (actually I found it wasn't holding zero after the first couple of boxes). I'm gonna call tomorrow to see what they will be able to do for me, but from what I read it doesn't look good.

Call white falls. I'm pretty sure they handle that kind of stuff for canadians. It'll be less hassle for you than shipping over the line anyway.

The warrenty stuff from mueller is pretty good. They don't quibble a whole lot.

Seeing as white falls is the only canadian distributer, i suspect your 'new' scope at a 'gun show' probably changed hands a few times before it got to you :) The scopes are already inexpensive - might as well buy from the dealer here in canada and then you KNOW you've got no problems.

BTW - we ran the hell out of their multi shot and tac-2. After much brutalization both scopes have stood up perfect. The tac 2 went on a Lott that's a known scope killer and did fine. But every manufacturer's going to have one bad apple now and then.

I'll try White Falls to see what he can do for me. The optics are great on this scope, the glass doesn't distort, good seeing. I was impressed with the scope when I bought it, seemd like a good sub $400 scope. My M305 has been blamed for being a very inaccurate rifle, but is seems to be soley related to this scope.

I think you'll be pleased with how you get treated. I know for a fact he's replaced scopes that were bought from the states on ebay with defects. When i reviewed the mueller scopes, the warrenty was the one thing that gave me pause, so i asked a LOT of questions both at mueller itself and at white falls, seeing as they're the only distributer here at the moment.

I'm satisfied that unless it's obvious that you caused the abuse (screwdriver sticking out of the casing, that kind of thing) they will replace it - and i know their warrenty IS transferable - so even if you were not the original purchaser you're covered.

Let us know how it goes.
