I'm curious too

Rodger at DARK does Hard Chrome hanguns and long guns. The price listed for pistols is $250, with a note to call on the price for long guns. (I'd imagine it wouln't come cheap).

Would hard chrome plating a norinco bolt help reduce generous headspacing?

Electroless plating is done using a chemical reaction. Once there's a thin flash of the metal the reaction stops. This means it's VERY thin. For nickel'ing a firearm you want to do the electroplate so the thickness will be up to snuff.

I used to do electroless tin and gold plating on circuit boards for a living. It's incredably thin deposits when done this way.

the prep work must be flawless cause the chrome deposit carbon copy's any imperfections, everything is done by hand and time
By trade i do hard chrome on hydro rods and bearing surface. Gun slides get tricky.
deposit of material...one thousands of an inch
