Hi,

For hunting, I would like to get some electronic muffs that allow me to hear game but also block out muzzle blast. Could you guys recommend some brands to check out? Looking for something that isn't too bulky that won't interfere with shotgun/rifle cheek weld, comfortable, and lightweight, and (not too expensive!)

These are the ones I have for several years, you may find them a little cheaper on sale from time to time but they work very well.

I bought some a few years back at around $100 from Acklands. I tried wearing them while hunting and gave up on the idea. There was a subtle hiss all the time and this model would turn on quite easily without my knowledge and kill the batteries. There was an excellent thread on this subject about a year ago, check the history on this thread.

I tried wearing electronic ear muffs once while deer hunting. I found that my sense of direction was off as to where noises were coming from and a tiny babbling creek about 20 metres away sounded like a rushing river after 3 hours of listening to it amplified. I have thought they may be worthwhile to hear a distant bull moose respond to your cow call? WK
