Most of the major reloading brand names out there have a version of this expensive device. Do they work well? I'm trying to find a way to save time reloading with H4350 and my manual powder measure just isn't up to the task. Even throwing short then trickling up seems to take forever.

I'm willing to spend the money, but are they worth it in the end?

Hi I have the RCBS electronic powder measure you also need the scale too. I have used them for over five years and have found it a great way to throw powder. Accurate to within a 10th of a grain. Quite expensive you will spend around $600.00 to $700.00 for the pair. Lyman has a unit $500.00 for the complete scale and throw. and I wouldn't mind having it. From the people that have used the Lyman they are happy with how it works. I don't think you will be disappointed once you have it.

I thought a digital scale would gretly shorten the time it takes to load cases, so I purchased the Hornady 350 gr scale. At first it seemed to speed things up, but I found it would sometimes hang up and I would end up with too much powder when it started to read again, I had to dump it out and start over again. The accuracy seemed okay, but it is not any faster than the balance beam scale/ I am also finding that my bullet speeds are more consistent with the balance beam scale. Perhaps if I had spent a lot more money I would have gotten what I was looking for.

I have the RCBS chargemaster and it is the rats ass. It is fast, accurate and easy to use. I got mine for $240US from Natchez shooters.

X2!! :D I bought mine from Midsouth shooter's Supply for about $230.00 This is truly a fast accurate Combo. Eagleye.

RCBS $249.99 USD Even passed through Customs without being opened!!! Couldn't believe that. Don't know how I wasted all that time before it is the slickest reloading thing I have bought in the last 35 years. Would trade my dog before I would trade it.
Ken.

I've just started using the RCBS scale (not the chargemaster). So far, I love it. Definitely faster. I bought this one with the thought of perhaps later grabbing the chargemaster as well (you can buy it on its own).

Help me out guys. I'm looking at the RCBS 2006 catalog, are you talking about the RCBS ChargeMaster Combo or the RCBS ChargeMaster Dispenser only:confused: ?? I'm thinking this may be the next item on my reloading equipment upgrade.

If you’re looking for an electronic scale most folk talk about how great the Denver Instrument Mxx123 scale is and it ability to read 0.001g. (at that sensitivity level not sure how usable it is) The closes Canadian scale I could find from the digitalscales website is the iBalance 101 which measured 0.005g or .01gn.
At $189 cdn for the ibalance against $255 us for the Mxx123.
The iBalance could be a good alternative to getting the Denver model.

P.s. there has been a lot of write up on the Denver model.

Yes, I figured that would be the case. I'm just trying to firure out what exactly to go for. On the RCBS website 'they' have the occasional factory second/shop worn 'item' available at a reduced price. May have to wait 'till my next visit to P&d in Edmonton............

I have a RCBS Chargemaster 1500 and its the best reloading investment I've ever made. Accurate throws in under 8 seconds. Even with handloading ammo, it speeds the process up tremendously without sacrificing accuracy of powder throwing - in fact its way more accurate than me with a gravity scale. If you have the bling and do enough reloading, I highly recommend the product.

I've got the Lyman 1200 DPSII brand new off ebay for 200USD shipped, went through customs like butter and that's my second best reloading purchase, the first beign my Dillon 650.

It's fast, accurate, can be used as an entire dispensing system, or simply as a scale to check your powder loads off your progressive.
