I've been looking at electronic scales for reloading. RCBS RANGEMASTER 750, Lyman 1000XP and Hornady GS-1000.

Anyone have any comments on these 3? Obviously the theme here is ~$200:)

blargon,
$200 is a theme, but $267 for the RCBS Chargemaster 1500 and dispensor combo is a much better one. That's what Natchez is selling them for, and they ship to Canada.

Blargon, I have been running a RCBS chargemaster scale/dispenser combo for the last two years and cannot fault it, prior to that I had used an old RCBS for eleven years....I could not fault that either.
Sinclair's list the scale at US$171.40 and the combo at US$327.90, and they are terrific to deal with.

Christ, Dogleg is right...that is a smashing deal.
Thread finished, problem solved !

RCBS Products - Electronic Scales

98920 - CHARGEMASTER 1500 SCALE 110V-AC

It is not very much more, and can be expanded to include the powder dispenser in the future. My RCBS 1500 scale is great, I am sure the 750 is great also, but why spend that kind of money for a scale that you cannnot expand in the future.

My Chargemaster 1500 cost ~ $250, and the scale itself is $150 , from Natchez in the US.

They are great, and will ship to Canada, but you have to call them directly.

Hmm, I may need more research.:) How do the dispensers work? You set a grain charge and it dumps it automatically into the pan?

X2 with roberti11. Slowly clawing my way into the world of modern technology with items like a digital camera, GPS and new cell phone to name a few. As part of my reloading equipment upgrade I opted for the RCBS ChargeMaster Combo. Excellant, no regrets and even I can figure out how to make it work.

Not quite that simple, a Lyman powder funnel is indispensable as is a SMALL (make your own) spoon, the spoon is required for the loads that go over...it happens.

That's exactly how it works, it also stores charges in memory, dispenses, trickles, beeps and otherwise puts on a good show. I like to set it close to the press where I can see it and let my kids run it and pass me charged cases while I seat bullets. It's like a foolproof assembly-line with grinning child labour.:D

J Stuart,
I noticed the power outlets in your picture. What household current do you run in Australia? Just curious if they have these scales set up for different voltages.

We have 240 volt in Australia, the scales are offered in 220 volt for the European market which is compatible.

One thing that I have found to be useful is an in-line power supply/surge protector, this negates power drops and surges and has the added benefit of making the scales far more consistent.
