As I understand it, ammo is catagorized after it is produced and tested. The pracitce grade ammo is going to be in short supply if all the ammo turns out to be very consistent. This is generally the case at the Lapua factory, and I suspect also at the Eley factory. It costs as much to make good ammo as poor ammo, and if good ammo is all that comes out of the machine, then it gets priced accordingly. The solution however is quite simple: why not practice with match grade ammo in the first place? That is the only variety that will tell you what your shooting is really like. That is all I practice with.
