Elite 6500 1.25-8X32 owners, need your opinion

Just to let you know Le baron has these on special in the store for $372.

I went with a buddy to buy one last year. Only looked through it in the store so I cannot say too much but it has lots of eye relief. It is perhaps a little bigger than some other 2x7 scopes. But for the money I don't think it can be easily beaten.

I was recently planning to purchase one of these myself. I ultimately decided against it based on the weight, price and the fact that it will always be a bushnell. Found a good deal on a VX-III 1.5-5 instead
But if you get one, let us know how you like it. Maybe for my next one....

I did get one - it was a gift. So far I like it but have not really have a chance to field test it. I wanted the rain/fog proof coating because there have been a few times where my breath hit my scope (Burris Fulfield II) before it got to my eye and then I was trying to wipe off the fog so I could see through it - hoping this Bushnell doesnt do that. Im not crazy about their warranty in comparison to others in the same price range but I wanted to get one - Got it on sale at Le Barons.

I got one from Le Baron last year for Deer season. I

got it since it was a real 1.25x. I was also looking at the 1.5-5 Leupold - but when you look at the specs - the 1.5 is actually a 1.7 or 1.8x or something like that - and your field of view is much bigger than the leupold.
The magnification range is great on this also. And - the eye relief is excellent on it too - which makes it great for magnums - and not worrying about getting knocked by a scope. Great eye relief is also an advantage when you suit up with your hunting gear and that eye relief is a little longer than when at the range - and or you're in a deer stand and don't want to have to lean in to the shot too much since you might feel as though you'll pop off the stand.

It's a great scope in my opinion - and i think Bushnell is the best value for the money. At 375 at Lebaron - it's stellar optics for the price. Get it!

I might even get another one for my 45-70 Ruger No. 1.

Again - great for woods situations where you want to watch the deer/moose or whatever walk in to your picture at 50 yards through a bunch of trees, and then the 300-400 yard shot your not leaving anything to chance with an 8x.

ted said it all, I second his comments. Great scope for the $ considering it is on sale for $370!!!

One sits on my RFB, I find it VERY quick to get on target with the 1.25x and at the high end of 8x, you can easily shoot at further targets.

Cheers
Jay

I just had one of these arrive in the mail today ... not a bad scope for 400$ (Le Baron). Mounted it on my MR1, my soon-to-be-deer-and-coyote-killer. A few observations;

- The field of the view feels a bit cramped from 1.25 all the way to 8, the whole point of having a scope like this is to be able to see lots and shoot fast.
- The glass clarity is quite good and sharp and the light transmission is excellent.
- I really like the feature on the turret caps, you can pop them up and set "0" number to your actual zero if you get what I mean.
- The cross hairs are very thin, I personally like this but some may not.
- The eye relief is a bit extreme for me, you will have to mount the scope quite a bit forward. Great for rifles with heavy recoil but a little overkill for something like my .223
- The range in magnification is great as far as I'm concerned, you have the minimum for almost reactive shooting and you have the 8x for those 200 meter + shots.

I hate to say but ever since I picked up a Sightron I've become quite the scrutinizer when it comes to scopes.

My two cents.

I have nothing bad to say about bushnell elite scopes. They work fine. Maybe you cant roll over them with a 80 ton tank like a nightforce, but that doesnt happen really often around here, so the bushnell elites are #1 value to me. I dont see the issue. I think people just like "tacticooler" brands, and paying more, really.

Humans are like that. Some people would rather buy a mercedes B class over a nissan maxima, just because it's a mercedes..... insert any brand you like, I'm just making a general statement. Alot of people will pay more for a brand, and to be able to brag that they paid alot, even if in fact a product that costs less would give them more, or the same, or they dont use the more expensive features anyway.

flame all you want.
