Elk antler

I was out for a early hunt today, and I came across an Elk antler. By the looks of it, I believe it is this years.

I looked around for the other antler, but could only find this one.

It is a nice big heavy 6 point antler in real good condition, ends are in good condtion (not chewed off to bad).

I was wondering if the antler would be worth anything? I know some people use them for carvings, ect. If it is, any idea on a price?

In a lot of areas there are guys that travel around and buy sheds for a couple bucks a pound.
Has to have the button though.

They end up as knife handle stock and chandeliers and the like. If you see what Cabellas gets for a whitetail or Mulie shed antler chandelier you'll get your hopes up, but the buyers are making money as well as the guys that buy from them, so it does not amount to much.

Were it me that found the antler, I'd be more inclined to keep it to use myself.

Should be a bit early for this years Elk should it not? I figure them to usually drop last {spring} and Moose to start first {after X-mas}. Maybe it differs depending on region?
