what is the best way to do Elk ribs? I only have a few packs and I don't wanna blow it by doing them wrong. I never used to like any ribs of any kind, but that's cause my "cook" didn't know anything about cooking! they'd be boiled first (loosing all flavor) and then roasted or whatever with crap trying to put the flavor back in! Yuk, every time! Then I discovered the bar.b.Q pit boys web site:
h ttp://www.barbecueweb.com/ and now I absolutely love pork ribs, done the proper way! just can't get enough! low and slow, WoW! awesome! but not sure if Elk ribs will turn out done this way or not.

do not boil....

2-3 lbs. Ribs
1 bottle cheap BBQ sauce of any kind (I like Kraft original or bullseye)
1 lemon sliced thin and one yellow onion chopped....
add pepper

Place all ingredients in crock pot for 8 hours on low.... be careful... your meat will be falling off the bine they will be so tender...

For the most part on game usually what we do is strip the meat off of the ribs and grind for burger and/or sausage. Just over a year ago we recieved a slow cooker as a gift. One of our first 'experiments with it was a batch of ribs, using the following receipt.

I'm not positive, but I 'think, instead of the 3/4 cup of beer or water, she used red wine.

Needless to say, I won't be boning out the ribs in future:).
