I notice Elwood Epps got some more Mosin Nagants in last week. I phoned and tried to get some info on year etc and the gentlemen told to check back in a few days. I watch the website and saw some rifles had been updated with info. Well yesterday night I noticed a 1925 hex and I jumped on it.
Drove up this morning and grabbed her.

The stock is a little rough, but everything else looks great.
Can't wait to shoot her.

I wanted a hex for my modest collection.
I jumped when I saw this one, I didn't expect it to last long.

The hex mosins in Epp's latest batch sold out today. I was hoping to grab one but as soon as they were posted with identification they were snapped up. Might turn up on EE for a modest markup....

Nonsense, the info was up for at least five min before the two hex rifles sold. I may have had something to do with the Tula disappearing but they don't call it a sickness for nothing. As for the markup, I do have a few doubles you can have for the same price.

I still have my 1943 Izhevsk and what a rifle she is for lack of metal finish. The rear bridge, for example, is only half done.

Funny enough, she does have a relatively smooth action. As one online reference said, these rifles were built to win wars, not beauty contests.

Some guy was looking at one and asked if they had anything better. I guess the look didn't impress him.
The store clerk pretty much told him that their were several million dead Germans who would vouche for the Mosin.

Ha, good one from the clerk.

At first, I did not like the look of the wartime Mosins I was picking from but I stopped and realized that they were produced this way for a reason. They are as much of a part of Soviet and WW2 history as any pre or post WW2 mosin.

Just my two cents anyway.

Yeah my bayonet almost fits without any force. I will say the bayonet fits my 1911 Izhevsk perfectly so atleast it isn't a total waste. It does make for one long pike :).

I thought I would share my Finn capture 37 tula. I put it together from two gun shows and the help of a member here (barrel bands).
It cost me a total of $112.
