hey guys, i just got this new norc m14 awhile ago, i have already shot it and taken it apart and reassembled it a number of times but for some reason i cannot get the trigger group to go back in this time. it slides into the stock nicely but the trigger guard will not swivel back down, like there is something blocking it. (but easily swivels back down into a locking position when out of the stock). what am i doing wrong....my trigger group isnt screwed is it? thanks

might be a pin or something sticking out where it shouldn't be- is the triggergroup bottomed in the receiver- there's a machined slot just behind the mag well that the triggergroup has to slide into- pics would help

here are some pictures as requested, yes the group seems to be all the way in the reciver and the trigger group is cocked (i have tryed with and without the safty on)

the trigger gaurd can go up and down when out of stock

this is as far as she goes while in the stock

let me know what you guys think

What you describing is actually GOOD. It means the trigger group will latch in nice and tight on the stock. Having it too loose is bad.

Push the trigger group in as hard as you can and then rotate the trigger guard into its locked position. This is going to take some force, probably a surprising amount of force but don't worry, it is all good. You can lightly grease the hooks on the trigger guard to help them engage the pins in the receiver.

Once the tip of the trigger guard is touching the trigger group housing, it requires a firm tap to lock into place. This can be done with the heel of your hand but make sure to tap backwards to help it into its locking hole. If you tap forwards, you'll be doing it till your hand turns blue.

thanks suputin...alot of force and some greece was all it needed (i was scared i was going to break it or something). i swear the last few times i did it it was alot easyier, oh well....

it might well have been-sometimes it binds in that channel- metal on metal and all that stuff- and it may get easier the more times it's done- kind of a "wearing in"-
