...

i just measured the exact diameter of the thickest point of the switch and it is EXACTLY a quarter of an inch... so anybody have any ideas or can anybody get these for me? thanks

Well the request is rather odd..........

I mean anyone at any club could find these quite easily.

Anyone with a PAL would know what caliber would be correct.

Personally I think that .223 would be the easiest to use as it would be a force fit and they are tall and thin.

good question... im not even sure... they need to fit over these switches...

basically a standard toggle switch... so maybe something that would fire from an AK-47 would be wide enough to fit over?????

Why does it matter?

It matters because a person who has been properly tought to use a firearm would not describe caliber as stated in the first quote.

Second: if they know the exact measurement, they should have some idea of the caliber.

And it matters to ME! If someone wants items that are used to make ammo, they should have some idea what they are doing. His very first post in AMMO and RELOADING were asking for empty brass. Yes, I know its only empty brass. Even if they are only going to use it to make their car look cool, I want to cover my a$$ from any legal issues. I have seen it done with empty cases before, so the request in itself was not a problem.

Nothing wrong with giving the guy a fired case or two.Calm down Gestapo
He's using it to dress up his car,and there's nothing illegal about doing that or giving him a few to help him out

You can PM me and i'll give you a few fired .223 or 9mm cases, you can fill them with epoxy and they should stay put

empty shells over the border is a non-issue.

next time you're down there just take some of those 'ak 47 shells' or the shells from the handguns that you are 'trusted with' and put them in your gang-mobile.

also, if you're a passionate firearms enthusiast as you claim to be, I'm surprised you have to ask what size shell would be ideal for your own switches.

oh, and also that you don't know what caliber goes in an ak47..

empty shells over the border is a non-issue wrong Brass coming into Canada needs and Export permit .

You know what...that last point by lowrider has me thinking.

He is right, him being a lowrider owner and me coming down on his initial request(assuming he was no good..) is just like the anti gun crowd assuming we are all criminals.

Hopefully someone helps you out with the shells man.

Oh and getting into the shooting scene is worth it. Go out and visit the local range and see what they are up to. Take your RPAL course and go for it.

We need more participants!

good comparison, why didn't I think of that?
I appreciate all of you who are sticking up for me on here, it means a lot to me. After all, I don't know everything about guns and ammo, but I'm learning. It's too bad more of you guys don't have an open mind. We've all got to start somewhere, and the more experienced should be helping the inexperienced and guiding them in the right direction. Thanks to those of you who have been cool:)

Back to the problem at hand.

Do you want a straight sided look or a shouldered look?

Short or long?

Brass or nickle plate?

Oh and the last time I checked 1/4 inch was .250 in.

A .22 Hornet or .25-20 would do nicely. Empty cases are about 1.3" long. A 6mm Bench Rest would do too, but they'd be expensive. About 1.5" long. A .223 runs a bit over 1.5". A .243 or most anything else will be over 2".

im not sure what straight or shouldered look means... but i want them to be nice and long, minimum 1.5 or 2 inches long... and a nice shiny brass i think would look the best...
