I have a set of these Emtam sights, I was thinking of replacing the factory folding sights on my Tavor with them. I'm just wondering if these are better than the factory ones. All I know about them is that their made in Israel. Anybody know if these things are decent?

What is wrong with the ones that came with the rifle?

Backup sights are just a post and a hole, get a decent set of optics instead.

Well yes, it asks the question, what are wrong with the ones you have. No idea what sights are on the Tavor myself, but I've toiled enough with BUIS to have an opinion.

Wanting to change the BUIS implies you plan to use them lots. What I'm seeing here that I don't like is the front sight seems to use a non standard post.
That will limit your options for different posts.

When I upgrade my BUIS, I typically change out the post in the front sight. The blocky one they come with is good for close range and just as co-witness reference, but for serious iron sight usage I prefer a thinner sharper post.

What I'm seeing that looks good, is the mounting method. Well a bit. Seems they clam on by bending the metal. If you can get them clamped on solidly without using too much torque you'll be fine. However, at first glance that method might not be compatible with all rails. I guess you'll find out.
Meanwhile, you'll notice there are flex points on both side, which means then will clamp while indexing a better center. Not sure how much that will matter in practice, but good alignment is good.

Only way to tell for sure is to use them. If they lock up tight, and are repeatable, then you're good. Ideally I'd opt for fixed irons for serious iron applications.

Only reason I was thinking of swaping them is because they seem to be better quality. I like the apatures on the Emtam sights a whole lot more, and I just get a better sight picture with them. The tavor has two apetures, but both of them are small. The only thing I like about the Tavor sights is that the front post is a night sight.
I dont plan to use irons a lot, I do have a dot sight on it. I'm just woundering if the Emtam sights are any good. It seems nobody has even heard of them.
