So I recently bought a pair of what I thought we No.1 Mk111 bolts since I wanted an early style cocking piece. When the bolts arrived, to my amazement, one was a 22 cal bolt! I showed some pics to people that said it isn't for a No.7
I know almost nothing of 22 Enfields so will defer to the CGN experts.
There seems to be a couple extra nubbins sticking up from the main spine of the bolt body? Never seen this before.
Also has an odd groove in the rear of the bolt body near the cocking piece?
Bolt head is clearly marked 22 No2 and EFD...... also has numerous WD marks and inspection marks.
What exactly did I get & what's it worth and is there a market/demand for it?

Can't speak to market demand; however, it is for one of the MLE converts to 22. Originally had the safety on the cocking piece and a dust shield too.

I'd say for the sort RF mkII and not the later No 2 mk iV.
The intact dust shield stuff makes it fun.
It would be a waste on a reciever with a bridge.

Bolt body & cocking piece from a MkII Lee Metford, you could use the cocking piece in your SMLE but it will not function with the safety/bolt lock of the SMLE

Both bolt body and cocking piece are Lee Metford Mk.II circa 1892-95. Bolt will fit in an SMLE, but the angle of the sear bent is different in that it was made for a long Lee single stage trigger. It would be dodgey with a very light pull off in a two stage trigger group of the SMLE. The knubs on the bolt rib are for a dust cover that slips under them and is held in place with the back end of the cover clicking into the slot. It went into a rifle that never had a safety, neither on the bolt or receiver.

Value? Probably much the same as a SMLE bolt but with a bit of a premium. I can see some damage on the cocking piece, it looks to be cracked/chipped with some metal pulling away on the arm part. The bolt head aint pretty but it looks functional.

The bolt body is made either by Sparkbrook or BSA , the cocking piece is London Small Arms , Bolt head by RSAF Enfield.
