Enfield .410?

A CGN member told me that a family member (WW1 vet) was a guard in a camp for japanese Canadians in WW2. He said his guard gun was a SMLE in 410.

I wonder if it was really the ball cahmber or a real 410?

The 2 I had were "sporterised" post war. One was a Parker Hale(possibly rebarrelled by them) the second was a Savage produced stamped US Property, bored out to .410 2 3/4. I believe both were done to make them easier to own in the UK(shotgun certificate rather than firearm certificate).
