enfield ATI stocks- any opinions?

Ugly, I would not mind a normal looking synthetic stock in black.
I always liked the idea of an Enfield version of a socom 16.
A bubba'd enfield for a reciever then the shortest legal barrel(17inches I think)
Black synthetic stock, holopoint or trijicon sight(or nice irons).
Personaly I would want a flash hider as a homage to the jungle carbine as well as for more practical reasons. A rig like this would be a great truck gun as well as a good deer rifle for close cover and alot lighter than a standard enfield but I would not hack up an intact rifle though.

I have the ATI on my mosin that I built, my SKS and my remmy 870. I am very happy with them. They aren't what you would call "top end" but they have all the necessary basics. I have no icky feelings about hacking them and generally bending them to my will. You can have an ATI for rediculously cheep and mess with it all you want.

"...weight loss..." That'll significantly increase the felt recoil. No model of Lee-Enfield takes scope mounting well. The sniper version being the exception, but it is drilled and tapped for a mount. None of the cheap 'go smithing' mounts work very well.
What model of Enfield and is it bubba'd already?

Parker hale mount, and rings for these rifles are still to be found at gunshows, and they will do the job quite well IMHO.

I haven't used the ATI stuff on an enfield but felt recoil is minimal now with my handloads and the ati stock itself. The Zytel does a wonderful job of absorbing recoil energy. The stock on my 870 is the same in this respect. I also added a recoil pad to my mosin (I needed longer pull) and felt recoil is very low. I was originally going to have a smith do up a muzzle brake for it and now I see no need. Buy the stock and buy it from ultimate arms on ebay.
