I have a 1918 No 1 MK III* barrel that has a very nice bore. I would like to use this to replace a beat out one on a sport conversion that is in progress. How is the rear sight attached to the barrel? If soldered how much heat is required to remove it? any chance of warping the barrel or could a heat sink of some sort be used beside the sight . Thanks Bob

When I flipped up the sight I seen the spring screw but didn't know the small cross pin held the sight base to the barrel. I did what rgg_7 said and came off with a good hit. Thanks guys. Its better looking already
