Hey guys/girls.

As some of you know I've been working on a project to build an Enfield 4T clone (As I don't have the cash for an original #4 T).

I've found pretty much everything, parts for the rifle, plus scope mount, and screws.

However, what I have NOT been able to find, is one of the scopes. Numerich has them, but will not export. IRG COULD do so, but I'd be paying another $200+ for their importing process, on top of the cost of the scope. Nothing against IRG, (Bought from them several times, never had any problems) but I'd rather not spend the $200 if I can find an alternative.

Does anyone have any sources for where to find one of these scopes, ideally in Canada or, from somewhere abroad.

-Thanks.

Wheaty has told me that the new scopes, for sale now are total junk. Way way off.

Ther earlier ones were quite decent.

He may or may not have one left to sell you.

There is a gent in SK installing scope bases accurately...it's not simply a matter of drilling holes and screwing them on. Plus drilling and tapping a hardened receiver is no easy matter.

Frost Cracked: You might consider as an alternative using a nice cheap Weaver K3 that will fit into the H & H type bracket. You can find them for $200.00 and they are a superior scope, in my opinion, to the No. 32 replicas (and maybe the real 32's). They are much lighter, as well, which puts less stress on your front pad during recoil. Use that on your replica while saving up for a real No. 32. Frankly, you might even keep using the Weaver after you have a No. 32 just to avoid wear and tear on the real thing. You'll pay a sizeable fraction of the cost of the real thing buying one of these replicas.

Cantom, I sent him a PM, have not heard anything back yet. Hope to, soon.

Milsurpo, thanks for that advice. I was beginning to seriously consider the option of a new model scope if I can't find an original, or repro.

Have a barrel coming in now... Probably won't see it this week but I hope to have a barreled reciever by next weekend, and a complete rifle the week after.

There's a gunsmith down this way I trust to do good work. Is there something special about installing the mount I should be aware of?

There are lots of things you have to know about installing bases that are correctly aligned and collimated.

Suggest you get someone who's done it before.

Wheaty knows a guy in SK that's done a few.
