hi there,
i just bought a sweet sporterized enfield(no4 mk1) but the trigger pull is 7 lb i'm told.
is there any way to modify the trigger?
by the way, i'm a strick milsup guy usually, but with the enfields always felt like i was carring around a tree on my back.

If you want to keep the tree trunk intact and still hunt it, are you opposed to using a synthetic stock and keeping the lumber in storage?

Or I can sell you a sporter'd stock that I got with my franken-enfield and then buy some tupperware for it.

There is an aftermarket trigger for the enfield, I believe john rempel in BC can install it, youll have to google him

no. it already has a sporterized stock. i found a good demo for lightening the trigger pull on utube. ashamed to say i forgot the enfield was a two stage trigger. i'll see how the four pound second pull feels before i do anything.
thanks
Rick

stay away from the ATI stock it is a pos. I had to give mine away, my buddy tried to give it back, twice. I fits like crap is not a drop in part and is much heavier than the wood.

If your fore stock has more than .020 wood crush below the receiver and trigger guard the armourers would replace the fore stock. This was because the angle of the trigger guard would be beyond the adjustment range of the lobes on the trigger. The fix for this was to bend the trigger guard downward to decrease this angle.

Looking below you want the sear to be at the edge of the cocking piece bent and ready to fall off the edge at the start of stage pull. By properly adjusting the trigger and adjusting the angle of the cocking piece bent your trigger can be made slicker than snot on a door knob.

Below is from the Canadian No.4 Manual and the key word is "MAY" meaning if the wood crush is excessive you bend the trigger guard.

With the fore stock removed watch the action of the trigger, at the end of first stage trigger pull you want the sear at the edge of the cocking piece bent and ready to fall off the edge with second stage pull.
