And you have to remove the front sight to fit the rear handguard ring, though I have heard that some folks simply cut it on the bottom and then silver solder the ends back together.

Money doesn't just talk, friend, it SCREAMS!

Likely they are starting to feel the pinch from the stupid new regs.

Only certain critical parts require US Gummint export permits: barrels, bolts, receivers, full-auto parts far as I know. Someone kindly clarify this if I am wrong; I need parts, too, don't have a budget for fighting the whole US Gummint as well as our own!

It seems to be a bit of a crap shoot.:( Apart from what is legally specified, a lot of what is in or out for export seems to depend on the whim of the "Homeland Security" apparatchik who scrutinizes outgoing shipments. For example, I recently had a nice M1 Garand stock siezed and denied export:mad:, yet an M1 Carbine stock came thru OK- other than Canada Customs opening it and charging me GST and PST,but no import duties.
AFAIK gun parts, other than receivers, barrels, and bolts, can be exported by a US vendor w/o a US Export Permit provided that the value does'nt exceed $100. Anyway, I sure sleep better at night knowing that all of this has made the world a safer place. Numrich/GPC had their export policy on their website the last time I checked.
