Enfield Revolver Markings

I recently purchased a 1933 No2 MkI (no star) Enfield revolver. I just noticed some interesting markings on the back of the frame, just above the serations between the grips. It says:

STAFF
C.D.F.
10

Any input on what this means?

Perhaps it was used at a Canadian Detention facility?

A quick google search brought up "Ceylon Defence Force". I found some info showing that they used Enfield Revolvers.

Not a bad gun for $150. Its in really nice shape.
